1. Who we are

Vortelique operates vortelique.com, an independent editorial guide to free online games for people in New Zealand. We are a review publisher, not a game operator, payment service or gambling service. In this policy, “Vortelique”, “we”, “our” and “us” refer to the operator of this website.

Questions about privacy can be sent to privacy@vortelique.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you email us, we receive the information contained in your message, including your email address and anything you choose to include. The current site has no user accounts, comments, payments, game wallet or newsletter form.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security providers may process limited technical data when you visit, such as IP address, browser type, device type, requested page, time of request, referring page and security events. This helps deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Local browser storage

We store one preference on your device—vortelique-cookie-choice—so the cookie notice does not reappear on every page. It does not identify you across websites. See our Cookie Policy.

Third-party fonts

Pages request typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser makes that request, Google may receive technical connection data such as your IP address and user agent under its own privacy terms.

3. Why and how we use information

We use limited information only to:

  • serve pages and keep the website reliable and secure;
  • remember your cookie-notice preference;
  • respond to enquiries, corrections and rights requests;
  • diagnose faults and understand aggregate site performance; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

We do not use personal information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell or rent personal information and do not build advertising profiles.

4. Sharing and overseas storage

We may share the minimum necessary information with providers that host, secure or maintain the website, professional advisers where needed, or public authorities where disclosure is required by law. Because internet infrastructure may operate outside New Zealand, technical data can be processed in other countries. We choose reputable providers and use contractual or other safeguards where appropriate.

When you follow an “Official site” link, you leave Vortelique. The publisher or store you visit collects information under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your game account details or purchase history from those services.

5. How long we keep information

We retain information only while it is needed for the purposes above. Routine server and security logs are generally kept for up to 30 days unless an incident requires longer retention. Enquiry emails may be kept for up to 24 months so we can maintain a useful record of the conversation. You can remove the browser preference at any time through the Cookie Policy.

6. Your rights and choices

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you may ask for access to personal information we hold about you and request correction if it is wrong. You may also ask us to delete information where we no longer need it, or raise a concern about how it was handled. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Email privacy@vortelique.com. We aim to respond within 20 working days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of New Zealand.

7. Younger users

Vortelique does not knowingly collect profiles or payment details from children. Our catalogue may link to games with different age ratings, online chat or optional purchases. Parents and caregivers should check the New Zealand classification, platform parental controls and the publisher’s terms before a younger person plays.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when our services or legal obligations change. The new version will appear here with a revised date. Material changes will be highlighted on the site where practical.
